Dermal Fillers at Leamington Spa Facial Aesthetics Clinic

Dermal Fillers are easily the most popular clinical anti-wrinkle treatment next to Boxtox at our Leamington Spa clinic, the results really do speak for themselves.

Dermal fillers help correct conditions of the skin that naturally develop as part of the ageing process such as wrinkles, folds and creases.

What causes lines and wrinkles?

Hyaluronic Acid is the naturally occurring substance present in our cells which keeps the skin smooth and supple. As we age, the levels in the skin decrease and we lose moisture, and it is this process that causes lines and wrinkles to develop. An injection of Hyaluronic Acid can restore skin volume and reduce wrinkles.

What are dermal fillers made of?

Most dermal fillers are made of the very same substance naturally present in young skin, they are a bio-degradable liquid gel form of Hyaluronic Acid supplied to qualified aesthetics practitioners in pre-filled syringes prepared for injection. When injected under a crease line in the skin with a very fine needle, the gel creates volume under the wrinkles, and in turn, lifts and smooths the lines on the surface.

To the right hand side you will see a clickable list linking to further information about some of the fillers I use at the Leamington Spa clinic.

I always stock the latest most advanced compounds and this information is provided for your information so you can learn a little more about how the different types of filler work; however, everyone's skin is unique and there are many factors to take into account before deciding on the best filler for any given situation, so I would advise against using it to make a decision yourself!

"There are many types of dermal filler available, each with its own benefits for use in different areas depending on your skin type, age and condition of your skin."

"I always like my clients to be well informed about the treatments I use, so do feel free to browse the other pages to learn more, but it's essential for me to thoroughly examine the problematic area first, taking into account your age, the condition of your skin and medical history to determine the best, most effective fillers for your requirements." - Rosie

Can dermal fillers be used alongside Botox?

Yes. Having specialised in Botox and dermal fillers for over 14 years, I can assure you that in the vast majority of cases it's perfectly safe to use fillers alongside Botox. The filler gels break down naturally over a period of five to ten months and can be used independently as a very effective anti-wrinkle treatment, or safely alongside Botox and other clinical beauty treatments.

"In most cases it's fine to use both Botox and fillers together in the same session as required."

"Botox is a prescription medicine, and as an Advanced Aesthetics Nurse Practitioner & Prescriber I am able to prescribe it via consultation, so if you do wish to enquire about a combination of both fillers and Botox, please take a look at our dedicated page about Botox at the Leamington Spa clinic, then get in touch and I will happily advise.

How long do fillers last?
Depending on the grade of product used and where a filler has been placed they can last from 4 to 18 months at which point you may wish to return for a top up treatment.

Can you use fillers to remove wrinkles on my hands?

"I'm often asked about hand rejuvenation and reducing wrinkles on ageing hands, and the answer is YES! Ageing hands can certainly be rejuvenated using several treatments provided at our Leamington clinic, and one of the most highly effective procedures is to volumise them with an appropriate filler. Radiesse is especially useful for rejuvenating the skin on the hand."

"I work with a number of compounds that are great for hand rejuvenation and restoring a youthful appearance to weathered, ageing or sun damaged hands. Over the years, in addition to the more common areas on the face and upper body, I've treated many patients with dermal fillers for hand rejuvenation with excellent results. Volume restoration using the right kind of filler can do an excellent job of improving skin elasticity and reducing wrinkles, so don't hesitate to get in touch for further information." - Rosie
